Why we build

Tonight, somewhere, a truck is moving.

It carries the bread that will be on a supermarket shelf by 7 a.m. The insulin a hospital pharmacy ordered yesterday. The parcel a grandmother packed in November so it would reach her grandchildren by Christmas Eve. Coffee, diapers, spare parts, school books, the phone you're reading this on.

Everything you've touched today, someone moved.

Logistics is the pulse of the world. Steady, constant, everywhere — you feel it only when it skips. The world felt it in 2020, when COVID shut down borders, and supermarket shelves went empty overnight. It felt it again in 2021, when one ship ran aground in the Suez Canal, and global trade held its breath for six days. 

We started Cargofy in 2017, after years in logistics. We saw an industry that keeps the world alive running on phone calls, spreadsheets and inboxes that never empty. We experienced dispatchers retyping the same load into three systems, and brokers losing freight at 3 a.m. because nobody was awake to answer. Sharp, experienced people spending their days on work a machine should do — that’s the state of logistics right now.

Everything around logistics moved forward. Payments became instant, and the phone knows where your pizza is to the minute. Meanwhile, the system that delivered the flour, the cheese and the box it came in still runs on email threads and hold music.

To change this, we are building Cargofy.

The future we see

Every time a new technology arrives, people ask the same question: will it take my job?

History has an answer. The Industrial Revolution changed almost every trade on earth, and people kept working — just differently. When ATMs arrived, everyone expected banks to let their tellers go. Instead, cheaper branches meant more branches, and tellers moved from counting cash to looking after customers. When spreadsheets arrived, accountants stopped adding up columns by hand and started advising the businesses they served.

Logistics will follow the same path. We're not here to take anyone's job. We're here to take the routine off people's desks: the retyping and the endless chasing. What's left is the work people came into logistics for, like solving hard problems and building trust with customers. The job gets more interesting, while the company gets more efficient.

In every logistics team, people and digital workers will work side by side.
