MyCarrierPackets

MyCarrierPackets, part of Descartes MyCarrierPortal, sends a carrier the onboarding packet, collects documents and signatures, runs the Assure Advantage risk assessment and keeps watching insurance and authority afterwards. Connected to Cargofy, onboarding is one action in Carrier Network: the invitation goes out, the completed packet comes back, and the carrier moves to Enabled automatically. Carrier procurement usually switches it on; dispatch uses it daily.

Send the packet when a carrier is added

A dispatcher finds a carrier for a dry van load from Atlanta to Memphis and adds it in Carrier Network with its DOT or MC number and an email. A digital worker calls EmailPacketInvitation, and MyCarrierPackets sends the carrier the packet. The invitation shows on the carrier profile, so the dispatcher knows the carrier is working on it without asking procurement to send anything.

Enable the carrier when the packet is complete

Cargofy polls CompletedPackets every 15 minutes. When a carrier finishes the packet, the digital worker picks it up on the next pass and runs the full sync, which is the only path from Disabled to Enabled. Carrier data, approved emails, the risk result and certificates go onto the profile, with no one checking the portal or keying data into the TMS. The dispatcher sees the carrier turn Enabled in Carrier Network and assigns the load in Load Hub.

Block an UnacceptableFail before assignment

A carrier that sounds fine on the phone can still fail Assure Advantage. If MyCarrierPackets scores it UnacceptableFail, or the carrier is on the blocked list, the digital worker reads the risk result into the profile and blocks the carrier in Cargofy at the same time. Assignment rules keep the load from going there. The dispatcher sees the block reason on the profile and moves to the next carrier.

Hear about a revoked authority before the next load

At onboarding, the digital worker adds each carrier to monitoring through RequestMonitoring. Cargofy then polls CarriersChanges every 4 minutes. If a carrier's authority is revoked a month later with the next load tendered, the worker reads the change on the next pass, sets the carrier to Blocked in Carrier Network and raises an exception. Procurement reassigns the load in Load Hub to an enabled carrier.

Find the COI and W9 without asking

The W9 and the current Certificate of Insurance arrive through GetDocument into Documents, attached to the carrier profile with the eAgreement. AP pulls the W9 for a first invoice from there. When an auditor wants the full packet, the digital worker fetches it as a single PDF by DOT number.

Keep the monitored list equal to your active base

When procurement sets a carrier inactive in Carrier Network, the digital worker calls CancelMonitoring and MyCarrierPackets drops it from the monitored list. Reactivating the carrier triggers RequestMonitoring and puts it back. The monitored list in MyCarrierPackets mirrors the active carrier base, and the Descartes subscription covers the carriers you dispatch.

Carrier Network stays the record of who you dispatch; MyCarrierPackets holds the packet and the risk model. Cargofy writes packet invitations, monitoring requests and cancellations. It reads completed packets, carrier data, risk results, monitored-list changes and documents. Setup uses API credentials that Descartes support issues for your account, entered in Cargofy settings; the endpoints and polling cycle are the same for every customer. Cargofy shows the risk result without re-scoring it, and does not edit carrier data inside MyCarrierPackets.

Shippers and 3PLs in North America that onboard carriers themselves rather than through a broker. Carrier procurement sends packets and reviews exceptions, dispatchers check the risk result and status before assigning, AP uses the documents, and the IT admin owns the credentials.
