KBX Logistics (KBX/GP)

Koch's logistics company, born inside Georgia-Pacific, tendering up to 10,000 shipments a day to a vetted carrier base. Loads on your private KBX board appear in Load Hub under your own KBX account, ready for a booking request you confirm.

KBX is Koch's logistics company, built out of Georgia-Pacific's transportation function. It moves freight for Koch companies and outside shippers across truckload, LTL, rail and intermodal. Approved carriers get a private load board matched to their preferred lanes and equipment. Connected to Cargofy, the loads your KBX account can see appear in Load Hub next to your other sources. The dispatcher who covers the fleet's core lanes usually switches it on.

What teams use it for

Keep a paper lane covered

A fleet runs paper and packaging out of the Southeast every week. The dispatcher sets an auto-search in Load Hub: origin within 120 km of Savannah, dry van, pickup in the next three days. Load Hub reads the private KBX board under the fleet's own account and matches each new post against the search. Matches arrive as notifications with lane, dates and equipment and build a standing shortlist of KBX freight for the lane.

Take a new load early

KBX posts a load at 09:40 for a plant the fleet already serves. The auto-search fires, and the digital worker checks the post against the trucks free that day and marks it as a fit. The dispatcher reads the windows on the card in Load Hub and confirms. The digital worker then sends the booking request through the fleet's KBX account, and the request and its timestamp go on the load's timeline. KBX says carriers can reach its carrier team directly if a question comes up.

Book and assign the driver

A booking request comes back accepted. The load moves to the booked column in Load Hub with the KBX reference, stops and appointment times, and the dispatcher assigns the driver from the same card. On the KBX side, the record stays in Loadshop, the KBX carrier portal, under its Booked tab.

Send status updates through KBX tools

The driver arrives at the shipper. KBX asks carriers to keep statuses current and offers its own tools: the Loadshop Status button for pickup and delivery, the free KBX TM Mobile app for arrival, departure and in-transit updates, and ELD tracking through project44. The driver or dispatcher updates status there. When the run closes, the dispatcher marks the load delivered in Load Hub.

Close the run so the invoice moves

The last delivery status goes into Loadshop. KBX documents that a load with the required fields submitted continues through invoicing, and it describes automated invoicing and flexible payment terms for carriers. The dispatcher checks that every KBX load in the week's booked list in Load Hub has its final status on the KBX side, then files the POD with the load in Load Hub.

How it fits your stack

Your KBX account stays the account of record. Cargofy reads the loads that account is entitled to see on the private board and sends booking requests under it. You confirm every booking. Onboarding happens on the KBX side first, through its onboarding specialist and carrier packet. Setup is per fleet, on request. Load and account data is stored in the EU, in Frankfurt. Status updates, POD and invoicing go through KBX's own Loadshop, app, EDI or API. Cargofy does not write status to KBX.

Who it is for

Asset fleets that meet KBX's own bar: active common or contract authority, an NMFTA SCAC, and at least 20 asset trucks under the registered authority, with cargo cover of USD 100,000 and auto liability of USD 1,000,000. Owner-operators and small fleets under that size do not qualify on KBX's terms. Best fit: fleets already on paper, packaging, CPG, chemical or industrial lanes in the US.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

What freight teams want to know before putting AI to work.

What parts of freight procurement can Cargofy automate?

Cargofy can support carrier sourcing, outreach, follow-up, bid collection, comparison, and the next approved execution step. The exact level of automation depends on the rules and approval modes configured by your team.

Does Cargofy communicate directly with carriers?

The intended workflow supports coordinated communication across phone, email, and messaging. Specific channels and integrations should be confirmed during implementation.

Can our team approve a carrier before booking?

Yes. The workflow can be designed around human approval, predefined execution rules, or a combination of both.

How does Cargofy compare bids?
