RMIS

RMIS, now part of Truckstop, is a carrier compliance platform. It combines DOT/FMCSA records, its own insurance data and the carrier's registration details into one monitored profile. Connected to Cargofy, onboarding, profile fill and daily monitoring run from Carrier Network, so nobody types an MC number into a second system or chases a certificate by email. Carrier procurement usually switches it on; the IT admin holds the credentials Truckstop issues.

Onboard a carrier from an MC number

A dispatcher finds a carrier for a reefer load and adds its MC or DOT number in Carrier Network. A digital worker attaches the carrier in RMIS and reads the Expanded Carrier record: authority status, safety rating, insurance, fleet size, inspections, crashes and operating states. Procurement no longer logs into RMIS and copies insurance limits into the TMS, and the profile is complete before the rate confirmation goes out.

Catch a cancelled policy the day it happens

A carrier's cargo insurance is cancelled mid-month, while the certificate in your folder still shows it active. RMIS puts the carrier in the Delta queue. Cargofy polls that queue every 4 minutes and refreshes only the carriers that changed. When the policy drops, the digital worker raises an exception on the carrier profile in Carrier Network and the assignment rules block the carrier. A dispatcher who tries to assign the next load in Load Hub sees why it is blocked and picks another carrier.

Stop a blocklisted carrier at assignment

DOT blocklists change without notice. When RMIS decertifies a carrier, Cargofy reads the alert through the Delta queue and the carrier's state in Carrier Network changes to blocked. The load cannot be assigned until the issue clears, and the reason sits on the profile.

Keep permits and W9s in Documents

When a carrier is attached in RMIS, a digital worker reads its permits, W9 and insurance certificates through the RMIS Document API and files them in Documents against the carrier profile. When a certificate is replaced, the Delta queue flags the change and the worker fetches the new one. The AP clerk who needs the W9 for the first invoice finds it in Documents next to the current certificate.

See payment terms and factoring from registration

On a CRS+ account, RMIS collects the carrier's insurance agent, payment terms, factoring company and tax ID during online registration. Cargofy reads those Registration Steps into Carrier Network, so AP sees the terms and the factoring company on the profile before the first invoice arrives. Monitoring Only accounts do not include this data.

Stop paying to monitor carriers you retired

Monitoring lists grow and nobody prunes them. When procurement retires a carrier in Carrier Network, the digital worker calls Detach and removes it from RMIS monitoring. If the carrier is reactivated, the worker attaches it again and the profile refreshes from Expanded Carrier. The monitored list in RMIS stays equal to the active base in Carrier Network, and the RMIS bill follows the carriers you use.

How it fits your stack

Carrier Network holds your carrier base; RMIS holds the compliance record. Cargofy reads carrier profiles, insurance, safety and registration data, the Delta queue and documents. The only writes are Attach and Detach, which add or remove carriers from your monitoring list; Cargofy does not write carrier data back into RMIS. Setup is per installation: Truckstop issues a client ID and secret only after a signed Systems Integration Agreement, and there is no self-serve access.

Who it is for

RMIS sells mainly to brokers and 3PLs. Shippers that run their own carrier base or a freight procurement team get the same checks. Carrier procurement onboards, dispatchers see status before assigning, AP uses the documents, and the IT admin owns the credentials.
